Mentor/Learning Specialist (THEME)
Description:
Full-time grant supported position through August 31, 2009 with
potential renewal for up to five years. Responsibilities include
serving as mentor and learning specialist for RSC (Rehabilitation
Services Commission) or RSC-eligible students; designing a mentoring
model utilizing best practices for college students with severe
disabilities; recruiting and training peer mentors; providing
learning support skills such as organizational, study, and tutoring
in entry-level subject areas; serving in leadership role for other
THEME staff providing mentoring to post secondary students; and data
compilation and reporting on students served, services provided and
outcomes.
Requirements:
Requires bachelor’s degree in education, special education,
vocational rehabilitation, counseling or related field. Requires 2+
years of experience servicing individuals with disabilities.
