Department Chair, Therapy Programs

Description: Full-time, year round position (180-day contract plus supplemental contract) providing leadership to the therapy programs. Provides leadership to the faculty, staff and students of the associate degree massage therapy, occupational therapy assistant and physical therapist assistant programs. This position includes both administrative and teaching (classroom, laboratory and clinical) components; curriculum and new program development, evaluation and revision; faculty recruitment, assignments, development, supervision and evaluation; planning, marketing programs in the community, operating and assessing program facilities; budget oversight; student advising, participation on departmental, committee, and college activities. The department chair utilizes continuous improvement strategies to foster student success and to seek and promote program growth and development opportunities. Assuring the legal, ethical, and effective day-to-day operation of all facets of the programs in concert with the standards of accreditation and college processes and priorities is critical.

Requirements:  Minimum of Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Master’s degree from an accredited institution preferred.  Current licensure in the state of Ohio as a Massage Therapist or Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapist Assistant or Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant required.  Minimum of five years of experience in clinical practice.  Educational experience and knowledge of educational methodologies preferred.
