Description: Full-time, 180-day contract position beginning Fall of 2010. Prepare and deliver high quality day and/or evening course instruction at main and/or satellite campuses or on the web in the biological sciences. Act as a supporting faculty member for the Biotechnology and Fuel Cell Education programs. Revise and develop curriculum; advise students; and mentor adjunct faculty. Participate in faculty meetings and professional development opportunities; support quality improvement in the department and the College; and participate in departmental and institutional committee work and other college-wide activities.
Requirements: M.S. in biology with a specialization in microbiology. Ph.D. preferred. Experience in college level teaching of microbiology and other biological science. Experience with Microbial Biotechnology or Microbial Fuel Cells is highly advantageous. Commitment to excellence in teaching with a learner-focused instructional philosophy is essential. Requires excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Requires ability to use technology that includes MS Office programs and internet delivered materials. Must have the ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
