Description: Full-time, 180-day contract position beginning Fall of 2009. Prepare and deliver high quality day and/or evening course instruction at main and/or satellite campuses or on the web in physics, including Principles of Physics, College Physics I and College Physics II. May also include teaching of mathematics courses, developmental or college level. Revise and develop curriculum; advise students, and mentor adjunct faculty. Participate in faculty meetings and professional development opportunities, support quality improvement in the department and the College, and participate in departmental and institutional committee work and other college-wide activities.
Requirements: Master’s degree in Physics or Master’s degree in Education or Curriculum and Instruction with 18 graduate credit hours in physics. Ph.D. preferred. Commitment to excellence in teaching with a learner-focused instructional philosophy essential. Previous experience with college-level instruction highly desirable. Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to work effectively with a diverse student population..
