Two Stark
State College students named to “All-Ohio Academic Team”
Stark State College
students Carol Kirkpatrick and Stefanie Cantrell have been named to the
All-Ohio Academic Team, receiving third-team honors. Each received a
$100 cash scholarship, an All-Ohio medallion and a certificate.
A business management
technology major from North Canton, Kirkpatrick is president of the Ohio
Region of Phi Theta Kappa, president of Business Leaders at Stark State,
and serves as a Stark State Student Ambassador.
Cantrell is majoring in
medical laboratory technology. The Canton resident is past treasurer of
the Stark State Chapter of the Association for Medical Laboratory
Technicians.
The All-Ohio Academic
Team provides statewide recognition to outstanding two-year college
students and opportunities for cash scholarships. Students are nominated
by their college and must have a minimum 3.25 cumulative grade point
average. Selections are based on academic performance, demonstration of
leadership and community service involvement. The program is sponsored
by the Ohio Association of Community Colleges (OACC), Phi Theta Kappa
International Honor Society, Honda of America Mfg., Inc. and the
KnowledgeWorks Foundation.
