(North Canton, OH – August 28, 2009) – Stark State College is offering exam prep classes for the ACT college entrance exam, the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) and the Professional Civil Engineer (PE) exam.
The ACT classes are six consecutive Wednesdays, Sept. 16 – Oct. 21 from 6 - 8:30 p.m. Cost of the course is $199 and includes extensive Cambridge TestPrep Plus materials. Instructors are Pamela Long-Rice, guidance counselor at Copley High School, and Chip Rankin, math and science teacher at Lake High School. Through this course, students develop strategies for taking any standardized test and will discuss information specific to the ACT. Out-of-class assignments will be given.
The GRE prep class is Tuesdays and Thursdays, Oct. 20 – Nov. 19 from 6 - 9 p.m. Cost is $369 and includes all materials, including the Cambridge Educational Services’ Six-Step Approach. Instructors are Peggy Brunyansky and Donna Bille.
Preparation for the Professional Civil Engineer exam focuses on the first half of Ohio’s Principles and Practice of Engineering exam. Students should have a copy of the Civil Engineers Reference Manual for this course taught by Geoff Wopershall, P.E., Mondays and Wednesdays, Dec. 7 – 16 from 6 – 9 p.m. Cost is $199.
