The Foundation is a non-profit 501(c) 3 tax-exempt organization formed in 1986.
The Stark State College Foundation seeks, receives and distributes funds, equipment, property and other contributions for the benefit of the students and programs of Stark State College.
Donations to the Foundation are tax-deductible.
The Foundation has a private board of directors comprised of local business, industry and community leaders who oversee the management of the Foundation's investments and distributors.
The Foundation has $3.9 million in assets.
Endowed scholarships provide a stable source of funding into perpetuity. The distribution level from endowment assets is critical to the long-term preservation and enhancement of real endowment value.
Awards are made annually, in keeping with Stark State Foundation procedures, and provide help to students, as they complete their educational goals and become productive citizens.
Over the past 14 years, the Stark State College Foundation has given nearly $1.3 million in scholarship funds to over 5,100 students. During the Fall 2011/Spring 2012 academic year, the Foundation funded $111,945 for student scholarships, College projects and instructional resources.
Stark State provides foundations and individual donors with the opportunity to achieve “productive philanthropy.” Thanks to our low tuition, every donor dollar goes further in helping students at Stark State.
Our scholarships help “change lives and build futures” for growing numbers of Stark State students and, at the same time, advanced economic development.
