Installing motion sensors in all of the classrooms and offices 50% complete.

All parking lot lights are connected to photo eyes and time clocks so that they do not come on
when they are not needed.
Conversion of old T12 fixtures (which will not be available
after 2010) to T8 fixtures and use of
environmentally safe bulbs.
The news Health Sciences building lighting has been upgraded to the energy efficient T5 fixtures.
Technology
All computer CRT displays have been replaced with flat panel
monitors saving energy and reducing
cooling costs.
The College is utilizing server virtualization which allows
several computer environments and
applications to run on a single server instead of using one
server for each application.
The power management features of Windows are being used to
reduce PC power consumption
when computers are not in use.
In all new construction:
With all new construction the College is building toward LEED
certification. In addition to what was listed above:
Installation of new and replacement carpet with a 35.5% recycled
content.
Installation of a white roof.
Installation of a chilled water system for the Colleges cooling
system.
Restrooms
(both new and existing)
All of our new construction and renovations include waterless
urinals which can save up to 40,000
gallons of water per year for each one.
Installing new automatic dual flush flushometers on the toilets
to conserve water there.
Installing LEED certified automatic faucets at all of the sinks.
Installing automatic hand dryers to reduce the use of paper
