Individual Accommodations
Interpreters:
Students requiring classroom sign language interpreting services should discuss specific needs with DSS as early as possible. Students can also request interpreters for other College activities, such as tutoring, meetings with teachers or counselors/advisors and special programs.

Library Assistance:
Students may request assistance in reading, scribing, or retrieving materials while doing course related library research. The assistant will act only as your hands or eyes. You are responsible for knowing the procedures and processes required to find the information you need.

Note Taking Assistance:
There are several possible sources of getting copies of class notes:
  1. The teacher may have printed lecture notes that can be photocopied
  2. You or the instructor may ask for a volunteer in the class to share notes with you, please see DSS for the note-taker contract and forms. The contract and forms must be submitted to DSS for the note-taker to receive a stipend for their services. Carbon note paper is available for your
    note-takers convenience.
  3. You may wish to record the class. This accommodation must be approved by the DSS office.
