Stark State College plans full return to campus for fall semester

(North Canton, OH – March 3, 2021) – Stark State College is planning a return to holding the majority of its instruction on campus for fall 2021. The College has been holding about 80 percent of its courses online since May 2020.

While online classes will still be available, the goal is to return to pre-COVID levels of in-person offerings for the upcoming fall semester. While optimistic this plan can be implemented, the College will continue to respond to COVID-19 changes and recommendations from the CDC and local health departments.

“Our students have been asking for in-person classes to resume, and we are planning for a safe return to campus this fall,” said Stark State President Para M. Jones, Ph.D. “We will continue to monitor the situation and adjust accordingly, as we have successfully done since the pandemic began last March.

“Online instruction has been part of Stark State’s convenient, quality education for more than 20 years,” she added, “and we will continue to offer online and remote classes for students this fall.”

The fall class schedule has been announced.

The campus will continue to enforce face mask wearing and other COVID-19 protocols until further notice. More information about continuing safety measures will be provided to students, faculty and staff closer to the start of the fall semester.
