(North Canton, OH – March 4, 2024) – Stark State College is reaching out to help currently enrolled Eastern Gateway Community College (EGCC) students continue and complete their academic programs and is ready to enroll students for summer and fall semesters.
“Stark State serves Akron, Canton and surrounding counties – a service district that is similar in demographics and industry to Mahoning, Trumbull, Jefferson and surrounding counties,” said Dr. Para M. Jones, Stark State’s president. “We offer the quality, affordability, value, classes and support services to help students earn degrees that prepare them for immediate employment in high-demand fields and/or university transfer.
“We have a shared facility with Campbell City Schools that was established several years ago, and we are currently serving CCP students in Mahoning County,” Jones added.
Stark State is the fourth-largest of Ohio’s 23 community colleges, offering more than 200 associate degrees and certificates in business, education, engineering technologies, health and public services, information technology, liberal arts, mathematics and sciences. Stark State serves approximately 3,700 College Credit Plus (CCP) students through partnerships with school districts across northeast Ohio.
The College is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission (HLC), which ensures the same quality education as other colleges and universities. Students receive quality, affordable, hands-on education with cutting-edge career programs that reflect ever-evolving marketplace demands.
“We look forward to working with students, school districts, employers and communities in Mahoning, Trumbull and Jefferson counties,” said Jones. “Our goal is to provide the best education at the best value to ensure that our graduates experience success in college and in their careers.”
