(North Canton, OH – March 15, 2024) – Students may now register for Stark State College’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) certificates, which will be offered starting Fall Semester 2024.
“The need for workers with AI skills is growing and is expected to continue growing for the next several years,” said Stark State College President Para M. Jones, Ph.D. “We’re proud to now offer these certificates to help both workers and employers meet this demand.”
Developed with the help of Intel Corporation, Stark State’s two AI certificates will provide students with the skills they need to work in the digital economy. Coursework focuses on different types of AI, available tools, data classification, ethical considerations, future trends and more.
Stark State is among a select group of community colleges across the country participating in the Intel AI for Workforce Program, which aims to equip the workforce with the skillsets and competencies needed for jobs that utilize AI. Intel leaders were recently on-site as the College unveiled its new AI Lab, which was funded through a grant from Intel and Dell.
“Stark State is very proud to work with Intel to become a leader in AI workforce education,” said Dr. Jones. “Intel is looking to Stark State to be an ‘accelerator’ in preparing people with AI skills needed in the digital economy.”
