(North Canton, OH – April 5, 2024) – Stark State College is accepting applications until April 12 for its next law enforcement academy, which runs June 3-Dec. 8.
Classes in this part-time academy are scheduled for Monday-Thursday from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with the schedule subject to change. You must enroll in each semester’s courses concurrently. Financial aid is available for those who qualify.
The intensive program, operated in cooperation with the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission and the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, prepares participants to pursue one of many careers in law enforcement, including municipal, township or village police officer; deputy sheriff; state wildlife officer and other law enforcement positions.
All instructors are certified by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission. Graduates of the academy are eligible to take the Ohio Basic Peace Officer Certification examination.
