Stark State opens new Welding and Joining Center in North Canton

NORTH CANTON, Ohio, August 28, 2024 – The new Welding and Joining Center at Stark State College’s main campus in North Canton is officially open.

The College recently celebrated the center’s opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event featured remarks by several speakers including Mike Duffey, chancellor, Ohio Department of Higher Education. After the ribbon-cutting event, guests toured the state-of-the-art center, which features 13 bays, materials-cutting and robotics welding automation areas, two classrooms and room for expansion. The facility represents a public-private partnership, built to address the increasing demand for skilled welders in our region. It will equip students with the knowledge and skills needed by employers and prepare them for in-demand, well-paying careers.

Classes began at the center on Aug. 26.
