The Stark State College Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible organization that supports our students and College through scholarships, faculty and staff professional development, and projects funding academic programs, facilities and equipment.
When is the campaign?
SSC Gives 2025-26 begins Sept. 15 and ends Oct. 24.
Why should I give?
The Foundation’s work benefits students, faculty and staff through scholarships, equipment, and program upgrades. Your gift ultimately supports student completion, retention and recruitment.
Your gift can provide
- A scholarship that ensures students can afford to complete their program.
- An emergency grant so struggles in their life don’t force them to give up on their education.
- Funds for books and supplies when they have difficulty paying for them.
- Full food cupboards so that hunger does not keep them from focusing in class.
Now is your opportunity to make an investment in our students and college, with 100% of your donation applied to the fund of your choice.
How will my gift help meet our goal?
Our target is 40% participation with a total of $40,000 donated.
Gifts of all sizes add up to make a difference. For example, if every employee donated $5 a pay ($130 annually), less than the cost of Starbuck’s every other week, we would exceed our goal.
What amount should I give?
Each person should decide what is right based on individual philanthropy. Whether $5 a pay or creating your own scholarship at $40 a pay, your gift helps our students grow and brings us closer to our Foundation goal of 50% employee participation.
How do I establish my own scholarship?
An endowed scholarship, an invested permanent charitable fund, can be started with a pledge to give $40 per pay for five years, for a total of $5,200.
An annual scholarship can be started with a pledge of $10 per pay for one year, for a total of $260.

What is an endowed scholarship and how do I establish one?
An endowed scholarship is a permanent charitable scholarship invested with a long-term strategy within a large portfolio in order to provide income into perpetuity without invading the principal while protecting the investment. A tax-deductible donation of $5,000 or more, payable over five years or less, will establish an endowed scholarship. Your $40 per pay payroll deduction over 26 pays for five years would achieve a $5,200 endowment donation. Contact Advancement at ext. 4415 for more information.
