Pre-actuarial mathematics
Overview
In actuarial math professions, you’ll use mathematical and statistical methods to assess and manage financial risk for insurance companies and financial institutions. Stark State’s associate of science in pre-actuarial mathematics is a two-year degree designed for students interested in pursuing advanced degrees in mathematical or quantitative finance. You’ll build strong problem-solving and analytical skills, business knowledge and a basic understanding of human behavior. Courses in statistics, economics and science are required.
