I have a diverse background. I graduated from Walsh College with a BA in elementary education and additional certifications in early childhood and specialized reading. Later, I returned to obtain three more certifications: learning disabilities, developmental handicaps and multiple handicaps. After the birth of my eldest daughter, I decided to tackle a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Ashland University. Currently I am working on attaining my doctorate in organizational leadership focusing on higher education. Holding these various certifications enabled me the opportunity to work at every level of education, from kindergarten through college. I worked at Stark State for 10 years as an adjunct instructor prior to coming on board full time. Initially, I taught only developmental math. Slowly I added reading and eventually became a certified Read Right instructor and coordinator of reading programs. I have loved the diversity and experience each of these positions has afforded me.
