Out-of-state online students

SARA Institution Seal of Participation
Stark State College participates in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements.

State authorization
To offer students outside Ohio the opportunity to take classes at Stark State College, we must adhere to regulations in each state that govern the delivery of online classes.

The state of Ohio is a member of the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (SARA), an agreement that establishes common standards for states offering online classes to students in other states. As a SARA participant, Stark State is able to offer online degrees and certificates to students in SARA member states without having to seek approval from those states. If your state is a SARA member (click this link) you may apply to Stark State to participate in an online degree or certificate program.

SSC also is approved to accept students from these non-SARA states:

  • California

Due to possible regulation changes, this list is subject to change without notice. If you don’t see your state, please contact us for more information.
