NORTH CANTON, Ohio, May 2, 2024 – Recently, 66 students presented at Stark State College’s 2024 Student Symposium, an annual event that showcases students’ academic achievements and technical skills.
The event featured 22 oral presentations, 18 poster presentations, a production of short comedies by Stark Stage Theater Group and a guitar performance by student Zacharia Smith. Kathy Catazaro Perry, former mayor of Massillon, delivered the keynote address. The top five presentations received cash prizes.

- Olivia Latherow – Stark State College: Erb’s Palsy
- Christopher D’Attoma – Stark State College: Social Media and its Impact on Modern Guitar
- Ngozi Emeka-Ogbonna – Stark State College: Total Ankle Replacement Surgery
- Sarah Humphrey and Camille Ciarlariello – Green High School, Stark State College: Analyzing Specific Rotation of Chiral Fructose, Glucose, and Corn Syrup
