(North Canton, OH – May 19, 2021) – Stark State College is set to graduate 689 students at its virtual spring commencement Sunday at 2 p.m. via YouTube and Facebook.
The College will award 769 associate degrees in business, education, engineering technologies, health, human and public services, information technology, liberal arts, mathematics and sciences.
The commencement speaker will be Jennifer Meek Eells, who graduated from Stark State in 1999 with high distinction and an associate degree in human and social services.
She went on to earn a mediation training certificate from The University of Akron, a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Walden University and a master’s degree in counseling studies from Capella University, graduating with honors each time.
Jennifer worked in various roles at Stark County Department of Job and Family Services, then served as deputy director of the Workforce Initiative Association and OhioMeansJobs Stark and Tuscarawas Counties. Since 2013 she’s been the Stark Tuscarawas Workforce Development Board’s executive director. She also taught at both Stark State and Kent State University and has been active on community boards and organizations.
