Stark State College Foundation reports record $8.6 million year

NORTH CANTON, Ohio, September 19, 2024 – The Stark State College Foundation recently reported $8.6 million in total giving and grant funding for the 2023-24 fiscal year, more than double the amount in the last two years.

Of the total amount, more than $7.3 million came through grant funding. Notable funding included:

  • $2.15 million from the U.S. Department of Education’s Title III Strengthening Institutions Program for the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access and Success (IDEAS) project.
  • $1.75 million from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Strengthening Community Colleges Training grant, which aims to increase enrollment, graduation and connections with health care employers in the College’s nursing programs, with a focus on underserved students
  • $859,000 from the Ohio Department of Higher Education’s Choose Ohio First to fund scholarships for STEM majors.
  • $537,500 from the Ohio Department of Higher Education’s Super RAPIDS grant to support the College’s new Welding and Joining Center in North Canton.

The Foundation also received $1.3 million in contributions from individuals, corporations, foundations and service organizations.
