NORTH CANTON, Ohio, December 31, 2024 – Stark State College is set to graduate 300 students at its summer/fall commencement Sunday, Jan. 5, at 2 p.m. at the Canton Memorial Civic Center.
The College will award 324 associate degrees in business, education, engineering technologies, health, human and public services, information technology, liberal arts, mathematics and sciences.
The commencement speaker will be Nicole Cleland, Ph.D., the College’s 2024 Distinguished Teaching Award winner, and associate professor and the psychology program coordinator at Stark State. She earned a Ph.D. from The University of Akron in counselor education and supervision. Cleland also has an MA from The University of Akron in marriage and family therapy and a BA from the University of Mount Union in psychology. Cleland practiced for several years as a licensed supervising professional clinical counselor and marriage and family therapist in community health as well as in private practice.
